About The Club :    

Fc Barcelona is a club based in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. It was founded by a group of European football players led by Joan Gamper in 1899. 

The Crest


The top quarters contain the St. George’s Cross, representing the patron saint of Catalonia and the Catalan Flag. The bottom consists of the colours of Fc Barcelona and a ball.


The Home Stadium 

Camp Nou



Camp Nou, Now Branded as Spotify Camp Nou due to the sponsorship deal with Spotify, is the home stadium of Fc Barcelona. It has a stadium capacity of 99,354 seats which make it the largest football stadium in Europe and the 3rd largest football stadium in the world.




The stadium has been a witness to several historic events in football like the opening ceremony of the 1982 world cup. 




In June 2023, renovations began for the Spotify Camp Nou with the goal of making it more technologically advanced and have a larger capacity than before.

Thus Fc Barcelona will be using the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys for it's official home games in the 2023/24 season. 



The President

Joan Laporta



His role in concise terms : The club's President is in charge of the overall management of the club. This includes legally signing contracts with staff members and players. Each President's term lasts for 6 years.



The Manager

Xavi Hernández


His role in concise terms : As the manager of Fc Barcelona his duties include :
  • The Selection of players.
  • Planning and Implementation of match strategies.
  • Facing the media and representing the club.
  • Overlooking player transfers.
  • Overlooking the club's academy development.
  • Communication with the medical staff and team coaches.


Ownership at Fc Barcelona


It is important to understand the system of ownership at Fc Barcelona as it is the foundation for all business decisions.

FC Barcelona does not follow the private forms of ownership, but is owned by its registered members and supporters. The club's supporters are its sole owners. It is not possible to purchase shares in the club, but only membership.

Thus, the power of decision making lies in the hands of the President of the club and it's Board of Directors.

This makes it crucial to vote for and elect a responsible President.
